Fall 2025: From Compass to Path

A Collaborative Mini-Retreat Focused on Creative Wayfinding

The Basics

When: October 3-6, 2025

Where: Breckenridge, Colorado

What: We are launching Grove Creative Collective with a retreat focused on activities and discussions around how we navigate our creative lives—and bring creativity into all areas of our lives.

Who: Six wonderful, engaged creators who want to spend three days/nights working with us and each other in the beautiful Colorado mountains.

Why: Because, if we are really alive in the world, then we are always working to find our path.

What’s special about this retreat?

In thinking about this retreat, we started with the idea of a compass. The magic of a compass is that, wherever you are, it situates you relative to the great big ball of our planet. Spin me around, put me in a dark field, give me a compass and I can tell you the direction to the Pacific Ocean or New York City or Peru or the Rocky Mountains or New York City or the state where I was born.

That is, of course, really cool. But it’s also not usually the end point because what the compass can’t help with is where you want to go or how to get there.

As creators, we are all always learning to find, build, and follow the path of our creative work. This is not always easy, but it is true for each of us, both in the practice of our creative work and in terms of how that work intersects with all the complexities of our lives.

At this retreat, our work together will focus on how we situate ourselves in the landscapes of our creative work and our lives (this is the compass part) and how we use that context to chart our creative paths.

At this mini-retreat we will

  • Have time to focus on our individual work

  • Work together on a collaborative project focused on creative compasses and creative wayfinding

  • Participate in discussions on these same topics

  • Enjoy good food, good rest, time spent with others, and time spent alone

  • Revel in the Colorado landscape
