Fall 2026 Colorado Creative Retreat

The Basics

When: Wednesday, September 23 — Sunday, September 27, 2026

Where: Estelle Center for Creative Arts, La Veta, Colorado

What: A four-day gathering to explore and grow; time and space to work on individual projects, experiment with new tools and techniques, collaborate, and converse with creators cross other disciplines.

Who: Creators looking for time to slow down and dig in.

Why: Time + space + community + creative energy = rest + work + fun + growth

What’s special about this retreat?

A Grove retreat brings together people across creative disciplines where, together, we step into new territory.

Our gatherings are rooted in the notion that we expand creatively when we are at the edge of what is known, comfortable, and ingrained. New perspectives interrupt patterns, raise questions, confirm or redirect thinking, and our creative work expands in ways we cannot anticipate.

Imagine: How might a writer’s process for revision influence that of a sculptor? How might a weaver’s understanding of texture influence a painter’s brushstroke? How might a poet’s use of line breaks influence a photographer’s framing?

In our inaugural retreat, we are excited to bring together the elements that we have been building in a variety of gatherings over the last year:

  • Sharing creative work space with familiar and new people

  • Carving out time to work on individual projects

  • Experimenting with tools and techniques of other artistic disciplines

  • Collaborating on a project shaped by all the participants

  • Delicious meals with vibrant conversation about the creative practice of our work and of our lives

All of this will take place in a lovely retreat center in La Veta, Colorado, a hub of creative endeavors and gateway to countless trails and parks.
