At our gatherings, we create short term, intentional spaces where you can get your creative jam on with other folks. We have several different types of gatherings with different goals, but all include some (or even all!) of these elements:
Building and diversifying your creative community
Opening up your creativity through playful activities
Getting your own work done
Collaborative work with other creative folks
Most importantly, having a damn good time!

THE TREEHOUSE

Imagine yourself in a treehouse, up above all the regular hustle and bustle. Up here, you can open a sketch book or a journal and draw or write whatever you want. Up here, your creativity escapes the bounds of your day-to-day responsibilities. Up here, you dream and play and create; you laugh with friends and marvel at your brand new creations.
At each Treehouse gathering, we bring folks into a space for a program that fosters creative community, loosens up your creative brain, and provides time for individual creative adventure.

Treehouse gatherings are typically two and a half hours long. During this time, you will have the opportunity to:
Meet your fellow Treehouse companions
Participate in a multi-disciplinary creative prompt or activity (that we provide, of course!)
Work on individual projects that you bring with you (or, if you want, just keep working on the provided activity)
Share the results of your work with the rest of the group (but only if you want to)

THE WOODSHOP

In the Woodshop, we get messy!
The Grove Woodshop is all about digging into a creative project with our hands, hearts, and heads—and with a community of other creative folks.
Woodshop gatherings are highly variable as the projects we work on will be different from gathering to gathering. But here are some things you’ll always find in the woodshop:
A hands-on creative project with guidance from a Woodshop leader
Great community with other creative folks
Discussions around thematic questions geared toward human connection and creative enhancement
A damn good time

In the Living Room, we invite you to bring your work into a studio that is already set up to maximize your productivity, community, and joy—and then to get down to work.

The Living Room is a place for you to work on your creative projects free of the distractions of your home, kids, day job, pets, and whatever else chases away the time you want to be spending on this important work. How it works:
Bring your work with you. This can be your notebook, computer, sketchbook, easel, paints, canvas. There is room here to spread out and get messy. (If you have questions about whether there is an appropriate space to do your particular work, send us a message and ask!)
Bring some headphones if you like to work to your own audio or cover up background noise. It We play quiet background music and some folks might have quiet conversation, so it will not be silent in the space. (You can also bring headphones to signal when you are and aren’t open to conversation.)
Bring a snack if you want. We’ll provide tea and water, but the food is on you.
Show up any time after the event start time and before the end time.
Pick a work space that’s comfortable and get to work. If you like to work in pomodoro cycles, we will provide a timer that folks can choose to sync up with or not.
If you want, during breaks, chat with other attendees about your work, your life, your dreams, or even the weather. During the last 20 minutes or so of the session, we will provide an optional opportunity to gather and share your work.
Head back out into the rest of your life knowing that, this day, you gave yourself the gift of spending focused time on your creative pursuit!
Come back again! Bring a friend! Do it all over again!

Everyone is welcome in The Living Room! However, the entire purpose of this event is to work on your creative work. This means you will need to bring that work with you. We have the space for you to set up, buckle down, and get that work done, but you gotta bring the work with you.

This event is held in a beautiful lower-floor space in a home. As such, accessing the space requires going down a flight of stairs.
