HOT

DANG, IT’S BEEN HOT!

After a much needed and glorious rainstorm here in Colorado, followeed by a lovely potluck (we ate so well!) and Treehouse gathering, I am sitting on my deck, enjoying the cool air and a moody moonscape. Tonight’s theme was impermanence. We made mandalas of flowers, berries, herbs, pine needles and grasses … then we blew them away. Lisa then led us in a haiku exercise focused on things that are temporary and how they make us feel. There were some jaw-droppers and much deserved applause. They were so good! Also, in case you don’t know: snapdragons can talk, which sets off uncontrollable laughter.

Our next Treehouse will be … drumroll, please … in Colorado Springs, August 19th!! Sign up here! Jenny has a great evening planned! And speaking of COS, there are two workshops coming up! The last day to sign up for the plaster-casting workshop (to be held Saturday, August 1) is THIS SUNDAY, July 26th, so we have time to properly prepare. Read on for all the details!

Our next workshop will be in Colorado Springs at the home of artist, Gayle Beyer. It is going to be a spectacular day of community around art and a shared meal. We also have our regularly scheduled Treehouse and Living Room gatherings and a cyanotype workshop in Colorado Springs at the beginning of September. See below for all the details and be sure to find the link to Lisa’s latest blog. Can’t wait to see you in the Grove!

THE WOODSHOP

Woodshop gatherings are highly variable as the projects we work on will be different from gathering to gathering. But here are some things you’ll always find in the woodshop: (1) A hands-on creative project with guidance from a Woodshop leader, (2) Great community with other creative folks, (3) Discussions around thematic questions geared toward human connection and creative enhancement, (4) A damn good time.

THE TREEHOUSE

In the Treehouse, you meet other creative people, participate in a multi-disciplinary creative prompt or activity that we provide. Everyone is welcome: This summer we are having a potluck dinners in the garden. Reserve your place today!

SUBSTACK: MY POEM VS. THE WORLD

“ … or at least to say that the version of the world I love is beset, a world that includes polar bears and alpine meadows and the freedom for people to live and love as they see fit.”
